Tips for Planning a Spring Wedding

Is there anything more classic than a spring wedding? Getting married in spring allows you to take advantage of much of nature’s bounty. Flowers and trees are in full bloom allowing for a magical and romantic background, produce is at its freshest, and the weather is more beautiful than ever. As you begin to plan your perfect spring wedding, we have three topics you need to give extra consideration.

Celebrate With Flowers

With the beginning of spring, all of nature comes into bloom. Not only does this mean that you have a great color palette and natural background, but you’ll have far more options for inexpensive flowers that will be fresher and more hardy. Cherry blossoms, dogwoods, herbs, and moss are particularly great examples of natural and rustic plants you can use to help create a beautiful mood. When planning for arrangements, flowers like daffodils, lilacs, hyacinth, and sweet peas can all add light and elegant fragrance as well as color.

Choose Your Colors

Spring weddings offer the most versatility and options when it comes to color palettes. While you always have the option to choose whatever colors you prefer, some do work better in different seasons. In spring, the changing of the weather and the awakening of flora and fauna allow for a greater mix of light and dark colors than the rest of the year. Lighter colors like pinks, blues, and yellows are just as acceptable as stormy grays, dark greens and vibrant purples. Creating a contrast between your color palette and floral choices can help create a dramatic environment.

Consider Your Catering

When it comes to creating the perfect menu, spring offers you a chance for beautiful fresh produce, delicious cocktails, and plenty of creativity. Why not start the event with an elaborate fruit, vegetable, and cheese board crafted from local favorites? Try adding unique and refreshing cocktails – like a rosemary elderflower gin fizz – for a colorful and refreshing pick-me-up before your guests start dancing. No matter what you choose, the bounty of the season will help ensure your wedding is a memorable and beautiful event.
