Tips for Planning a Fall Wedding

Fall Wedding

Planning a fall wedding is incredibly exciting and that’s why we have a few tips for you!

The dappled hues of changing leaves, a crisp feel to the air; fall is an excellent time for a wedding! When you’re planning a fall wedding, you have so many options! Each season has its pros and cons, but fall is still one of our favorites. While there is no right or wrong way to plan a wedding, it is your day, after all, we do have a few tips to help guide you.

Choose Your Color Palette

Traditionally, fall wedding colors follow a theme or reds, golds, yellows, and orange, but there are far more options than just these. Adding in cool and jewel tones can help balance the palette of your wedding and make the brighter colors pop without being overwhelming. Shades of green like emerald and moss are both great options as they allow for a natural and neutral base. Navy is another great option that is particularly nice paired with goldenrod.

Keep Cozy

Having a wedding in the fall means you might be wind up with a day that is too hot, too cool, or just right. It’s best to plan for cooler weather and embrace the season by having hot beverage stations and setting out shawls and blankets on the backs of chairs. Consider adding faux fur stoles for the wedding party, or a bonfire to keep guests warm and entertained.

Adapt Your Florals

While modern technology allows us to purchase any flower regardless of time of year, a fall wedding is the perfect time to bask in the colors of the season. Adding garlands of festively colored foliage, eucalyptus, and succulents can help set the mood in a beautiful way. Add in creative touches like pinecones and local apples for a creative and seasonal touch that your guests will love.

Plan Your Menu

One of the most important parts of your wedding plan should be your catering! Fall offers a unique opportunity to create a memorable and delicious menu. Whether you’ll be offering a sit-down meal, buffet, or a lighter, appetizer spread the produce options of fall give you a lot of stunning options to work with. Try a seasonal fruit and cheese platter for instance, or a hot cider station!
